The Saintes archipelago, a little jewel nestled in the south of Guadeloupe, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places to explore during a stay in the Caribbean. Made up of nine volcanic islets, the archipelago is renowned for its bay, ranked among the most beautiful in the world, its authentic villages, its exceptional seabed and its gentle way of life.
At Soleil Excursions, we want you to experience the Saintes in an authentic and intimate way, thanks to our sea excursion to the Saintes departing from Pointe Noire in Basse-Terre.
A unique archipelago of history, nature and culture
The Saintes archipelago consists mainly of two inhabited islands: Terre-de-Haut, more touristy and colorful, and Terre-de-Bas, wilder and more peaceful. Each island has its own unique identity, well worth discovering.
Terre-de-Haut charms with its Creole architecture, flower-filled streets, colorful houses and relaxed atmosphere. Fort Napoléon, perched high above the island, offers spectacular views over the bay and houses a fascinating museum retracing the island's history.
Terre-de-Bas captivates with its authenticity, hiking trails, unspoilt beaches and breathtaking views. It's still so little-known, yet so full of charm. Perhaps it's still a place like few others in the world. It's the ideal place to enjoy a typical lunch in a peaceful atmosphere, in the heart of a fishing village.

Discovering the Saintes : What must you see in Terre-de-Haut?
Terre-de-Haut is the most visited island in the archipelago and well worth a visit. Here are a few must-sees:
Fort Napoléon: perched on a hill, this historic site offers a breathtaking panorama of the Baie des Saintes. There's also a small botanical garden and a museum retracing the island's military and natural history.
Pompierre beach: sheltered from the wind and lined with coconut palms, this is one of the most beautiful spots for a quiet swim or picnic.
The main street and its colorful atmosphere: stroll through the little streets, between Creole houses, craft stores and café terraces.
Pain de Sucre: a snorkeling spot renowned for its incredible seabed, accessible directly from the beach.
Chameau (highest point on the island): Wear good sneakers, carry a large bottle of water and climb to the top of Terre-de-Haut to enjoy the breathtaking view over the whole bay. The view is worth the effort it takes to climb it!
Discovering the Saintes : Don't miss Terre-de-Bas
Less crowded and wilder, Terre-de-Bas offers another, equally charming facet of Les Saintes:
Grande Anse beach: beautiful and vast, it's perfect for a seaside stroll or a moment of relaxation.
The Pointe à Vache trail: a short, easy hike leading to a superb view of the island and the ocean.
"Notre-Dame de l'Assomption" church: built in the 17th century, this is one of the oldest religious buildings in Les Saintes.
The lime kiln: a vestige of the island's industrial past, it is a reminder of the work carried out by the people of Les Saintes in the past.
Petite Anse beach: at the foot of a sheer cliff, this is a superb beach with crystal-clear water and a view of the island's lighthouse.
